Overnight in Amman
Start your day with a city tour of Amman, Jordan’s vibrant capital. Explore the ancient Amman Citadel, the Archaeological Museum, and the Roman Theater, then stroll through the bustling streets of the Old City.
Later, head to the Dead Sea, the lowest point on Earth at 400 meters below sea level. Its ultra-salty waters, eight times saltier than most oceans, allow you to float effortlessly. Swimming (or floating) in the Dead Sea is a once-in-a-lifetime experience you won’t want to miss.
Overnight at the Dead Sea
On your fourth day in Jordan, embark on a journey through history, spirituality, and architectural marvels as we travel from the Dead Sea to the legendary city of Petra. Along the way, we’ll explore the mosaic-filled city of Madaba, the sacred Mount Nebo, and the imposing Kerak Crusader Castle.
Our first stop is Madaba, known as the “City of Mosaics,” located west of the Dead Sea along the historic Kings Highway. This charming town is home to the famous 6th-century mosaic map of the Holy Land, beautifully preserved on the floor of the Greek Orthodox Church of St. George. Madaba’s rich history and vibrant mosaics make it a must-visit destination for travelers exploring Jordan.
Next, we’ll visit Mount Nebo, just 10 kilometers west of Madaba. This sacred site is believed to be the place where Moses glimpsed the Promised Land before his passing. From the summit, you’ll enjoy panoramic views of the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and even the rooftops of Jerusalem on a clear day. Mount Nebo is a place of profound spiritual significance and a highlight of any trip to Jordan.
Continuing south along the Kings Highway, we’ll arrive at the Kerak Crusader Castle, a massive fortress that stands as a testament to the region’s medieval history. Built in the 12th century, this imposing structure features underground galleries, secret passageways, and thick defensive walls that once protected Crusader soldiers. Explore the castle’s fascinating history and imagine the battles that took place within its walls over 100 years ago.
After a day filled with exploration, we’ll make our way to Petra, one of the New Seven Wonders of the World and Jordan’s most iconic destination. Your overnight stay in Petra will prepare you for an unforgettable adventure into this ancient Nabatean city.
